The previous post in my journey to KICK OUT LAZINESS is- Failing at Time-Tables

Its been a month since my last post and a lot has been happening. Continuing on with were I had left, well yes, “study” and “learn” became my priority. My days were spent studying w.r.t. my syllabus and of course, lazying around. Study, day dream, kill time, win arguments in the head and day over. That’s how it was going.

One day, I woke up and felt something on my back. It felt stiff. I got out of my bed and stretched my whole body standing on my toes and again, I felt something on my thighs. Something was different. Since the winters were beginning to subside, I was wearing a short-sleeve top and suddenly I noticed my upper arms closely after a whole season. It was rounder and had fat.

A family occasion came up and I wore my summer jeans. Jeez! It refused to be pulled up. Somehow I had my dinner wearing those super-tight pair and quickly dashed to my washroom to change. Felt sad that my toned body days had come to an end. The hour-glass figure I was so proud of was no longer with me. Nazar lagi hai mujhe, I thought but actually it was all due to lack of exercise, a nag to eat tasty food, mindless and irregular munching and sitting on the chair continuously. Despite writing a post on it, I was not exercising regularly. I was no longer fit and I thought, this is life- as you age, you lose grace. I felt like an old stubborn woman who had failed in fitness and was ready to give deep knowledge about how fitness is necessary but won’t budge an inch herself. It was a gloomy issue but the major blow came at the beauty-parlor.

In the big mirror of the beauty-parlor, I discovered a pot belly protruding from my abdomen. It was round and bloated. My thighs grew jiggly and had patches of cellulite. I knew I had gained weight, but this much! I was shocked.

Any day, I would choose my pre-pandemic (Covid-19) body than this one. Back then I was flexible, jumpy, agile and here I was standing in front of a salon’s mirror of truth- a couch-potato personified.

I got motivated by the people who posted about their regular exercise routine. A thank-you to them. Some beginners, some professionals and I too decided to exercise daily, this time, seriously. And yes, now I feel better, more energetic, fresh and less dull. The fat is burning too! But, water-intake is low…

P.S.- This post is not intended for any form of body-shaming or degrading anyone in any way. Thoughts expressed here are personal to me and yes, I can exercise choice with respect to my body.
