Resolution- “Now”!
Its not 1st of January but still a week is left for January to get over. Well, I thought that I can continue to work on my self-improvement like I did last year but figured out that having a resolution always helps. Its 24 January 2024, plenty of days are left this year and I am taking up the resolution of “Now”.
Last year’s resolution report
Last year, my New Year Resolution was “Kick out Laziness” which had started with a mission #bebettermewithosdotme in os.me and side by side, I posted on Medium as well. Good old days when we could post our stories there but then due to certain circumstances, we cannot do that anymore. Well, along with me, many more promised to do a part of self-improvement. Though posting on os.me by people is not available now, but from the bottom of my heart, let me tell you, that I respected that very last trend of #bebettermewithosdotme for the whole year and I was successful in kicking out 60% of my laziness.
When I made a solemn promise at os.me, I kept my word. You may say that it was ‘just a challenge’, well I am happy that I slogged for the entire year to really be a better me! A big thanks to Sri Devi Om ji whose brainchild SD Revive Gurukul (SDR) helped me overcome 60% of my laziness.
Truth be told, no spiritual or material advancement happens with laziness. Initially, with hit and trial method, I noticed that I failed at time-tables, maintaining a lazy sheet, exercising regularly. But Sri Maa’s idea of karma-yogi challenge on Wildr “Live A Spiritual Life” was a life-saver for me. No self-help books, no lofty podcast, no wise words- just a sincerity to improve oneself via the “Live A Spiritual Life Challenge” and encouraging comments by regular people helped a big deal!
(Wildr is a toxicity free app which can be downloaded both in android as well as apple.)
“Now” is my New Year Resolution 2024
60% of my laziness have been done away with. It has helped me foster mindfulness of about 60–70% throughout the day (mostly). But this year, I intend to bring it to 100% or close to it.
When one works on oneself continuously, only then one knows what one has to work on. After a year under Sri Maa’s (Sri Devi Om) guidance, I have figured out that my mind is an impediment for the remaining 40% laziness.
I just wonder off. My mind has learnt this skill so extraordinarily that to catch it in that tiny moment before wondering off is really difficult. It has mastered to not listen to me. So, I intend to use the command “Now!” either by my mouth or just mentally to bring my mind back to present.
The present can be as simple as just sitting on a chair and observing things around or solving complex life problems. The brain has to be on a “Now” mode to do anything. Its just one word and it is all that will matter to me for this whole year along with the ongoing “Live A Spiritual Life Challenge” on Wildr.
And yeah, I am not that girl who gives up on her resolution after a few days or upon shutting down of something loved. Furthermore, I am a part of SDR which never teaches to give up any day.
With Love,
Yogini Chitra Om.
