My humble pranaam to the feet of Sri Devi Maa!
Om tat sat!
Continued from part 4
8. You will face jealousy
I have faced jealousy. I mean, I have experienced jealousy in my own self when I saw so much potential being directed and guided by Sri Maa and I have battled jealousy when other people threw it on me when they saw me growing spiritually. Jealousy is undeniable and we will face it, no matter what.
This post by Sri Maa (on jealousy and self acceptance), helps a great deal to understand that jealousy often fuels our progress but unbridled jealousy only leads to accumulation of negative karma, which is adverse for our path.
A few excerpts from Swami Rama’s Perennial Psychology of the Bhagvad Gita-
1. The wise man understands that desire, which creates misery for him, is produced by rajas. Therefore, he practices to attain sattvic virtues and thus achieve a state of tranquility, which is the nature of sattva. Ordinary people are infatuated with sensual desire, kama. Kama is the prime desire that gives birth to anger, greed, attachment, jealousy, and pride. Wherever desire dwells, one suffers from these other evils as well. The sage knows this and thus always remains vigilant, for desire is such a powerful motivation that itis even capable of blinding the reason of good sadhakas. (BG 3.37)
2. Yogis traditionally use Verse 24 as a prayer before their meals. It reminds them that eating food is a sort of prayer in itself, that they are eating for Brahman and not for themselves. Therefore the sadhaka offers his food to Brahman with the feeling that the food is in fact Brahman, the eater is Brahman, and the offering is to Brahman alone. That helps the sadhaka expand his awareness of Brahman. It makes him aware that there is only one existence and that all separation is illusory. Ordinary people are attached to food and do not like to offer or share with others. But the sadhaka on the path of spirituality understands that he should develop the habit of giving so that he does not become a victim of greed, jealousy, pride, prejudice, or egoism. (BG 4.24)
9. If you are sincere and persistent on your spiritual path, things will be alright.
Nature or Devi is random but is always aware. It works without attachment but notices people who are sincere on their path. Sri Maa told me, Devi begins to favour who work with purity and put the right effort for it, sor spiritual transformation! She understand love and truth. So, keep walking, o soldier, just don’t give up!
It may sometimes feel like Nature is biased and unfair. Sometimes, its difficult to accept what Devi has thrown towards us, but dear, at that point, surrendering to Her will is all that is needed. In Osho’s The Book of Woman, I read a beautiful quote-
A woman is to be loved, not understood.
Well, this fits absolutely well for Nature, our dear Devi or Nature!
These were my learnings till now. 9 points. I will continue to learn and walk ahead. I offer my heartiest pranaam to my Guru and to the beautiful Sri Devi Maa who continuously watches over me!
That has been possible only because of Devi’s will, my Guru’s blessings and guidance and my humble effort. 🙇♀️❣️
